High Tide was the last song recorded to our coming album and also the last song I made lyrics for. I thought I’ll make lyrics of something I really feel passionate about. It like automatically came to this financial turmoil as it has affected lives of Billions of people, not perhaps directly, but indirectly. Iraq was bad, but let me tell you, its only piece of a cake compared to what the greediness of few and stupidity of few others have and will cause to billions of people. That makes me really, really angry. So, I made the lyrics and went to studio and Samu – our studio engineer – laughed about the rage I sang the song with. That wasn’t originally the purpose, but like most unintentional actions, it felt right. So we decided to keep it.
So this song is all about George W. Bush and his Gang(sters) and greed.

This song is all about rage. Rage on how the greed of very few brought the entire globe to brink of a total financial catastrophe. They got help from what has been perhaps by far the most incompetent administration in entire history of USA. They created their so called free market capitalism with no rules and no control systems. Then they exploited every loop hole in the system and created fortunes for them selves. Ultimate greed took over. When everything collapsed, they asked the society – us - to help them out. The same society they said they’d never need.
As a result of their games, billions of people are affected. Their crime is beyond our imagination. So, this song is about greed and stupidity.
I was in London when the G20 Summit was held there. I truly dislike anarchy, but I can’t help totally agreeing their main message. Politicians, banks and financial institutions are responsible for this recession. Their greed with bonuses that are totally unrelated to their employers long term success was the gasolin to the flames.
What makes peoples rightful anger even worse, is the total lack of responsibility and penalty. If a common man robs a bank, the penalty is severe, but if a banker robs the bank by misusing its systems, he just gets a couple of hundred million worth of bonuses which he will be allowed to keep and then gets a golden handshake. Seeing the result of the turmoil, its easy to see, which one of the criminals is more destructive to the society.
This unfairness has been allowed to continue and it severely demoralises the society: Those greedy ones are allowed to rob and destroy the society, why should the rest obey it.
Somehow this all shows the decline of our moral values and with moral values I don’t mean necessarily religion: I just mean human moral values: taking care of the next and thinking of the best of society.
Worst piece of this puzzle was George W. Bush and the gang of criminals he called his administration. Their total incompetence and arrogance let this all happen. The blind faith on market economy, the amount of greed seldom seen in our history and total stupidity of the president himself.
That combination has now pushed tens of millions of people to deep problems, forced our societies to borrow from our children and grand children to finance their mistakes – and not even to speak about the environment.
My children, my coming grand children and their children. Did they have a say??? Bloody idiot!!
